Popcorn Remix Is Changing the Game — How Ryan Richmond and Greg Bowman Turned Flavored Popcorn into a Cultural Movement
Ryan Richmond and Greg Bowman embody the entrepreneurial spirit that represents Juneteenth 2025. After being snowed in a popcorn shop on a trip home, Ryan was inspired to put a twist on the popular snack by infusing flavors that resonate with Black culture. After receiving his family’s blessing, he partnered with Greg Bowman, a former music producer and executive to create Popcorn Remix.

With flavors like Butter Pecan, Lemon Poundcake, Banana Pudding, King Crab Legs, Hot Wings Lemon Pepper, Popcorn Remix has the nost unique spin on America’s #1 movie snack. The immediate reaction from fans sped up the process for the business and the purchased a store front in Conyeres, GA.The location is in the heart of the community and is filled daily with children, teens anf families.

The unique popcorn couldn’t be confined to Conyers, GA and soon the partners were included in Atlanta’s top-tiered sports franchises, inkining deals with Mercedes Benz Stadium for Atlanta Falcon and Atlanta Hawks games along with concerts and other mainstream attractions.

For Ryan and his family, Popcorn Remix is more than a business, it represents legacy. The company was established in honor of his grandfather Chester Richmond. He made sure that the logo/mascot ‘Chester’ was a symbolic nod to his grandfahter who inspired him to be a business owner.
Ryan and Greg recently partnered with Atlanta’s mega hip hop station Hot 107.9 to support the station’s biggest event of the year, ‘Birthday Bash’. Popcorn Remix hosted a LIVE remote the week of the show and invited the community out to met some of the station VJs and of course to sample their delicious popcorn. Ryan and Greg have learned that once someone samples the popcorn, they’ve automatically sercured a longtime customer.
Often times the most brilliant business ideas are the most simple. Providing the answer to a simple issue and then emplifying the ability to monetize the exchange is at the base of being a successful business. Contrary to popular belief, the sexy and often complicated idea or business structure doesn’t usually lead to massive sucess. Success is simply offering a busiiness solution to a demographic that needs it. Luckily for Ryan and Greg, as long as there are movies and sporting events and hungry people looking for a snack, Popcorn Remix will be in business.
