Pastor Jamal Bryant talks with Christal Jordan-Jennings

Bryant has lent his support to VP Kamala Harris campaign for President, believing there is only one candidate that will promote unity and progression. Bryant offers a unique explanation on why he believes the Bible supports a pro choice stance on abortion. He references Revelations 3:20 which states

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”  God offers us free will, he doesn’t force us to do anything. A woman should have a choice on what she wants to do with her body.

He supports the  pro choice stance on abortion, but Pastor Jamal Bryant believes the church has a responsibility to be vocal in civic and social issues that affect its parishioners. When it comes to racism and prejudice, Bryant says the church should have a no tolerance policy. “Anyone supporting or promoting racism is outside of the teachings of Christ. There is nothing fair or just about racial bias,” he says bluntly. Bryant’s unique approach to shepherding his massive flock rests in his own belief system that the church, specifically the Black church should offer guidance and information for its members. “It does the members a disservice if the leadership is too heavenly minded to be any earthly good,” Bryant says.
