Living Out Loud: Snoop’s Luxury of Love, Legacy, and Leadership
Atlanta has a unique way of birthing entrepreneurial stars, and this fall one of the city’s own is set to make history. Snoop—entrepreneur, restaurateur, social connector, and now reality star—is stepping in front of the cameras with Snooping for Love, the first LGBTQ dating reality series of its kind. Premiering on Apple TV and other major streaming platforms, the show follows Snoop as twenty women compete for her affection.
When I sat down with her, I asked if she imagined her journey would be similar to a male bachelor looking for love on television. She laughed, acknowledging that she does love beauty and being catered to, but added quickly that her search is about something much deeper. For Snoop, attraction is only part of the story. Connection, emotional support, and a partner who truly understands where she’s been—that’s what matters most.

Where she’s been is a story of resilience. Snoop has lived through the unimaginable, first losing her 22-year-old daughter unexpectedly, and then, still raw from grief, enduring a painful divorce. She spoke candidly about how those experiences altered the way she moves through the world. “People wanted to help, but most didn’t know what to say,” she told me. “You never get over losing a child—you just learn how to live with it differently. Faith and time gave me the strength to stand again.”
That strength became the foundation of her new book, Who is S.N.O.O.P.?, which doubles as both autobiography and grief journal. It is part memoir, part tool for others struggling with loss. “Life is short,” she said, pausing with a quiet conviction that made the air between us heavy. “I owe it to my daughter to live fully—for both of us.” The book, available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and her website, offers not just her story but pages where readers can process their own. It is the kind of gift you can give someone when words fail, but love demands you show up.

Snoop’s determination to live fully is evident far beyond the page or the screen. Long before the cameras came calling, she was already a powerhouse in Atlanta’s business and restaurant scene. Alongside rapper 2 Chainz, she has built an empire of seven restaurants—a feat in an industry where many don’t survive past the second year. When I asked her what made their partnership work, she didn’t hesitate. “Trust,” she said. “That’s everything.” She explained that success also comes from treating restaurants like the serious businesses they are. “It’s not just lamb chops and grass walls for Instagram. You have to understand the process, be present, and do the work.” It’s this disciplined approach that has allowed their brand to thrive and expand through franchising, turning local hot spots into sustainable enterprises.
Her travels have also shaped her business vision. Experiencing different cultures abroad gave her inspiration she brought home to Atlanta, elevating her restaurants beyond the expected. Snoop has a way of seeing the details others miss—whether in design, in flavor, or in the dynamics of human connection—and turning them into something magnetic.

That gift extends to her personal life. Snoop spoke openly about her journey in discovering her sexuality, recalling how a threesome in her late teens made her realize where her true comfort and joy existed. What began as curiosity soon revealed clarity: she identified as a lesbian, embracing the role of protector and provider while appreciating the beauty and softness of women. Today, her perspective has evolved. Attraction still matters, but now she knows love must be built on emotional support as well. “I used to think attraction was everything. I didn’t put a lot of responsibilities on my partner,” she admitted. “Now I know better.”
Though originally from Detroit, Snoop now calls Atlanta home and is intent on making the city proud as she expands into television. She insists she prefers being behind the scenes, but with Snooping for Love about to hit screens nationwide, it seems her moment in the spotlight is only beginning.
What struck me most in our conversation wasn’t the history-making nature of her reality series or even her business acumen. It was her willingness to be vulnerable. She doesn’t shy away from grief, healing, or sexuality—she leans into them, showing us that true strength isn’t about never breaking, but about how you rise after life shatters you. Her story is about living out loud, even when the silence of loss could have swallowed her whole.
This fall, audiences will see if she finds the connection she’s searching for on Snooping for Love. But whether or not she leaves the show hand-in-hand with a new partner, it’s clear that Snoop has already found something more enduring: purpose. And that may be the most powerful love story of all.
