Latocha Scott To Be Honored at Diva Dinner Series At Belly Restaurant Atlanta
Legendary vocalist Latocha Scott will be honored for her contributions to music and community on Friday, March 14, 2025, for the kick-off Diva Dinner series hosted by Lenox & Parker magazine. Editor in Chief, Christal Jordan explains the Friday night Diva dinner series was designed to launch during National Women’s History month to highlight the accomplishments of exemplary Black women in their pursuit of excellence as they support their communities. “National Women’s Month is about honoring the tenacity and resilience of women in every aspect of their lives. We’ve known LaTocha as an amazing talent for over thirty years with all of her success with Xscape, but recently she’s been honest about some of the challenges she’s had to overcome as a woman and we thought this was a great opportunity to give flowers to a woman that has given so much to her community. LaTocha has a non-profit titled, Made Girl, where she empowers young women and encourages them to put themselves first. Many people don’t know that side of her and this is what we want to celebrate,” Jordan says.
In addition to the digital cover presentation from Lenox & Parker (www.lenoxandparker.com), Josie’s Girl, a local non-profit geared towards empowering young women will present LaTocha with the pinnacle award for her tireless efforts with Made Girl. Author and public speaker, Dr. Jeri Godhigh is looking forward to honoring LaTocha for the work she is doing behind the scenes. “LaTocha’s voice was God-given, but we are also celebrating her heart. She is giving back to young women who need to see representations of themselves,” Godhigh explains. Atlanta based clothier, Electrifying Boutique will present a fashion creation for LaTocha that was inspired by her beautiful voice and thirty-year career with Xscape. Owner Ebony Greene says the piece represents the “boss energy” LaTocha possesses along with the creativity and versatility she represents. Atlanta’s #1 millennial DJ, Nelledoesit will perform a musical tribute to LaTocha to kick off the formal presentation.
Jordan hopes the Atlanta community will join Lenox & Parker in honoring LaTocha to kick off the series. “In this city known for the impact of music, I can’t think of a better way to begin the diva dinner series than with someone who contributed to the musical fabric of the city in such a special way,” she says. “We’re excited to announce our celebratory diva for next week will be Taliah Waajid of Taliah Waajid Products and the Natural Hair Show.”
The Diva Dinner series featuring LaTocha is scheduled for Friday, March 14th at Belly Restaurant. Doors open at 7pm and the program will start at 8. Seating is limited so guests are encouraged to arrive early. LaTocha will also debut her new single, “Love Changes” at the event.
