Drew Sidora Leads the Charge for Health Equity in Atlanta
When art imitates life, powerful things can happen. Actress and singer Drew Sidora transformed a storyline from her television series ‘Mind Your Business’ (Bounce TV) into a real-life movement for women’s health in Atlanta. After her character’s battle with endometriosis — a plotline inspired by writer Staci Harris’s own experience — Drew joined forces with Harris and fellow actress Brely Evans to create a Health Community Equity Fair at Mount Ephraim Baptist Church on October 10th.

What began as a script moment became a mission. The women recognized how deeply issues like fibroids, adenomyosis, and endometriosis affect Black women, often in silence. Determined to change that narrative, they brought together community voices, medical experts, and advocates to educate, empower, and encourage open dialogue about reproductive health.

Atlanta’s own Dr. John Lipman, a nationally recognized fibroid specialist, joined as the major event sponsor, amplifying the fair’s reach and impact. His commitment to offering non-surgical treatment options that preserve fertility aligned perfectly with the day’s message of informed choice and holistic care. Support from the Endometriosis Foundation, Morehouse School of Medicine, and numerous health vendors further underscored the event’s mission: making healthcare education accessible to every woman.

Of course, Drew’s star power drew major support. Her circle of powerhouse friends — Phaedra Parks, Porsha Williams, Shamea Morton, Pinky Cole, and Angela Oakley — showed up in full force, turning the fair into a vibrant mix of celebrity compassion and community connection..

The day was more than a health fair; it was a call to action. Drew Sidora and her team reminded Atlanta that our stories can spark change — and that when Black women lead with purpose, healing and hope follow.

Special thanks to Dr. Lipman, The Endo Foundation, and the Morehouse School of Medicine for their partnership and continued commitment to women’s health equity..
