Day26 Makes a Triumphant Comeback with New Album ‘Day Ones’
R&B group Day26 delighted their dedicated fanbase with the unexpected release of their third studio album, Day Ones, on Monday, August 26, 2024, aligning perfectly with the group’s 17th anniversary. Formed on Making the Band 4 in 2007, the group’s newest offering is an independently released 16-track project featuring co-writing credits from all five original members: Robert Curry, Willie Taylor, Michael “Big Mike” McCluney, Qwanell “Que” Mosley, and Brian Angel.

In an emotional Instagram post, Day26 announced, “The Wait is Over… and This is For Our DayOnes!!!” They underscored the importance of the album as their first studio release since 2009’s Forever in a Day, urging fans to rally behind them: “What we need from our #DayOnes is to truly Run It Up!!!” The album reflects their evolution as artists while maintaining the lush harmonies and soulful R&B sound that catapulted them to stardom.
Day26’s resurgence celebrates the deep connection between the group and their fans, many of whom have been following their journey since MTV’s Making the Band 4, one of the network’s highest-rated series. Their 2008 self-titled debut album set records as the best-selling debut by a male R&B group in SoundScan’s 17-year history, with chart-topping singles like “Got Me Going” and “Since You Been Gone.” Their sophomore album, Forever In A Day, also claimed the #1 spot on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
Day Ones is now available for streaming on all platforms, marking the much-anticipated comeback of one of the most beloved R&B groups of the 2000s.
