About Nzinga Imani

Nzinga Imani asserts herself as a multidimensional force, shining as not only an actress, but as an entrepreneur and style icon. However, she stands out the most as a trailblazer. Her bold personality defines key roles in the likes of Tyler Perry’s Zatima and Sistas as well as her very own clothing line NiMANi. No matter what she does, she always lets her voice be heard—as loudly as possible. Hailing from Atlanta, mom worked in accounting and dad did real estate. Acareer in the arts may have felt foreign to the family, but not to Nzinga. As a first-generation Guyanese-American, she adopted a tireless work ethic. She eventually studied theater in college. She learned the ins and outs of the craft, gaining skills as a makeup artist and designer. Building a following on social media, she landed partnerships with brands such as Fashion to FigureFashion Nova, and more. Inspired by the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Whoopi Goldberg, Kristin Chenoweth, Melissa McCarthy, Jennifer Anniston, and Viola Davis, she poured all of her energy into acting. She went from online shows in college such as Dream, The Urban Musical, which generated millions of views across platforms, to a role in the film Curves—produced by BET and Issa Rae’sColorCreative. Major credits followed such as her turn as Dawn in the BET+ Original Series All The Queen’s Men. Tyler Perry created the character of Angela for her in Zatima and Sistas, attracting a global fan base and critical acclaim. Next up, she not only starred in, but also produced the upcoming Friendzone in addition to joining Taye Diggsin an upcoming feature.
