This led to a move to L.A. where Tayla now resides and is where she secured her first acting job aged 12 years old. Many small TV roles and stage performances ensued, leading to a role on the highly acclaimed film production ofHairspray where Tayla was nominated for her first Grammy.

Having tackled the TV and movie business, Taylor, now 17 turned back to her true passion, music. Through a mutual friend, Tayla was introduced to record producer, music executive giant, Baby Face and began working out of his studio. With Tayla’s natural ability to just make things happen for herself she began navigating the music industry in L.A. developing relationships with top A&R’s, publishers, and record label execs. You could say Tayla was in the right place at the right time when she landed her first placement with Sevyn Streeter garnering writing credits on the album “Call Me Crazy, But…”, however Tayla genuinely put the work in.

More placements ensued with The Pentatonix, Prince Royce, Fifth Harmony, Jennifer Lopez, Jason Derulo and Mariah Carey, and a second Grammy nod came with Ariana Grande’s “My Everything” in 2014.

Chris Brown – Anyway (Audio) ft. Tayla Parx

Like most up and coming artists, Parx began her musical journey as a songwriter, penning hits for some of the biggest artists in the industry and now at 22 years old, Tayla the artist can be heard on Chris Browns “Anyway.”  “I was in a session withBlaq Tuxedo listening to tracks and they played, what we now know as “Anyway.” The moment I heard it, I was feeling it and began writing on it straight away. It got into Chris’s hands and he felt the same way. I did a few verses and the chorus, and Chris loved how I sounded on the hook, so he kept me as the featured artist.” Says Tayla.

Gifted with an intrinsic ability to cohesively fit melodies together, along with a strong sense of love, poetry and literature is what makes “Anyway” a standout track. To the backdrop of Blaq Tuxedo’s complex production is what makes this a winning formula.

Under the guidance of manager Dada Mills, Tayla is readying for her 2016 EP release in which you’ll get to learn more about her as an artist. “I’ve studied the business, I’ve worked with a lot of artists and I know what’s out there. My musical message focuses on finding a happy medium between being a confident woman, being sexy while not going overboard.” Tayla has also received her third Grammy nomination having written on The Internet’s Ego Death, which is up for Best Urban Contemporary Album.

Tayla creates music that is relatable and conjures a vast array of emotions, unique for every listener. Her music isn’t really genre specific and her body of work reflects diversity, which is what Tayla’s music will entail.
